ABOUT THE SCORE::.
Andre brought me onto this project after hearing the work I've done with Douglas Schulze [Dark Fields] and Robert Butler [Spirit Of Isabel] I hadn't done a documentary before, and it's a bit different from what I'm used to doing. I had to create the music cues before ever seeing any footage. Andre gave me some ideas to work from, and soon I had the pieces ready to deliver!
I created the music with lots of soundscapes, violins, guitars and my own special effects. I breathed into a microphone, then stretched the timing out, added a pitch-shifter, and other toys to create the atmosphere you hear in most of the score. I love being able to create an instrument so to speak, to give it originality to the film.
The film is a real eye opener, and I highly suggest viewing this documentary.
